2009-05-11, Kennedy Space Center FL. Last Hubble Space Telescope servicing mission (HST SM-04). Final Non-ISS flight. This was the second launch that I attended at Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. I arrived at the early morning hours, before sun-up and camped out on a lawn area where other launch viewers would eventually gather. After waiting long hours in the Florida sun STS-125 Atlantis lifted up to the cheers and excitement of the crowd. I pieced together a short video from the still images that I shot of the rocket noisily flying off into the sky. Below are four short videos, two shot before the launch early in the day and one video shot with my camera on a tripod during the launch (while I shot stills on my DSLR camera), and one video shot after the launch that captured the sounds of the gathered crowd. Below that I have images that captured over the course of my day at KSC. Enjoy.
